Pupils can log reading in 2 different ways on Pageticker. Parents or teachers can log reading instead, it's up to each school if they want to use this feature or not.
The first ways pupils can log their own reading is in school, through our scan and log feature. This involves teachers providing pupils with a class QR code which they scan using their device and then select their name from their class list. They can then use the 'loan' book feature and log their own reading. It's a slimmed down version of logging reading on the teacher dashboard. It's suitable for pupils of all ages.
The second way which is designed for older pupils who you want to log their own reading at home is pupil login. This will be used by some schools but others will prefer parents to log reading, which is absolutely fine.
To enable pupil login teachers will need to go to User Management > Manage Students and select the box or select all pupils to generate logins. This is entirely teacher led and it's up to each school if they want pupils to have their own app login at home. We recommend it only for pupils aged 8 and above and for home use.
Whilst pupil logins could be used in school, we think that the scan and log feature is better for this purpose as it's quicker and easier for them to log in.
